Guía de Isora was the fourth municipality in the South of Tenerife that had a music band, after Güímar, Arafo and Granadilla de Abona. Before the date of founding of the “La Filarmónica” music band, in 1915, which we have already dealt with in another article, according to tradition in this town there had already been two musical groups, “Los Patriotas” and “ Los Leoninos”, the last of which had only lasted a couple of years.
We do not know with certainty when these groups existed and who their directors were, but the truth is that since the end of the 19th century the municipality of Guía de Isora began to become aware of

Thanks to the Tenerife press we have evidence of three periods prior to that date (1893, 1902-1904 and 1906-1909), in which in the festival programs of Guía de Isora and Adeje a “ Guía music band” is mentioned. ”, without specifying their name, although they were surely the ones that tradition remembered.

With the existence of these bands, the Isoran youth began to develop a taste for music and the desire to know and master the different instruments in order to be able to join them was instilled. But these groups suffered frequent crises that led to their temporary dissolution and subsequent reorganization, which has been a constant in the musical history of this municipality. We are going to dedicate this article to those first music bands.
